I hate to break to you all, but the first photo - it is far from abandoned, it’s actually a hugely busy tourist spot.
These ships were sunk on the sandbank of Morton Island in Australia to create an artificial reef. Which consequentially is about a 30 minute ferry ride from my house.The wrecks attract large numbers of marine life, fish species, stingrays, sea turtles and most famously sharks.
You can have a lot of fun snorkeling and scuba diving along the wrecks, although it’s usually pretty crowded. I spent most of my time when I was there last free diving to pet (yes I do mean pet) the more docile species of shark.
